If you cannot complete a request for information (RFI), contact Compliance before the deadline stated in your notice. Do not wait for every document to become available before explaining the problem. Review Responding to a request for information (RFI) for response and deadline guidance.
Explain what is missing
Include the request reference and the deadline shown in your notice.
Identify each item you cannot provide and explain why.
State when you expect the information to be available, if known.
Ask whether another document or explanation is acceptable and how to submit it securely.
Do not assume an extension
Sending a message, submitting part of a response, or asking for more time does not extend the deadline. Follow the instructions in the notice unless Compliance explicitly confirms a change. Keep that confirmation with the request.
If the deadline has already passed
Contact Compliance promptly and explain the situation. Missing a deadline can affect the transaction or account, as described in the RFI overview and your notice. Ask for the current status and next step; do not assume that a late response reverses an action already taken.
Still need help?
